[dropcap] I [/dropcap] don’t get excited about a lot of things…especially movies. Especially these days when the only movies I’m seeing star a Lion as the main character.
That is until the release date of “Magic Mike” was announced. Within the first two seconds of the first preview and I knew I wanted to see it. I went as far as planning a full on GNO, changing my cover picture to the cast and buying my ticket a week in advance.
FINALLY, MAGIC MIKE TIME!!
My friends and I arrived at the theater to find a long line of women dressed as if they were going to meet Channing and Matthew in person. Backless tops? Really? I also want to give props to all of the husbands and boyfriends for taggin’ a long with their wives and girlfriends.
Before the movie started…women were screaming, shouting and clapping. My friend Hannah was on the verge of punching a few of them because she feared this would happen through the entire movie.
About the Movie
To sum it up without dragging it out. It was a great movie. I wasn’t expecting an actual story line and was shocked to find just that. A STORY LINE!
All of the guys looked amazing. With and without clothes on.
The ONLY thing I thought was out of place was Cody Horn (Brooke). I really like Cody as an actress but felt she was the wrong choice for the character. I like watching movies and thinking “I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing that part.” Who could have fit the character? Maybe Jennifer Lawrence?
Sidenote: it’s actually rumored that Alex Pettyfer (Adam) could play Christian in the “50 Shades of Grey” movie. Think he would be a good choice?
